Deputy Manager - FP&A

Objective The role incumbent Provide inputs to the Business Heads to maintain the expected growth rate by supporting the managers/Leads for creation of the financial strategy and create avenues for organic/inorganic growth. Tack the financial and operational performance. Role is also accountable for accurate & timely reporting of the financial results for the region/ Vertical. Collaborate with business heads to define annual budgets. Responsible for financial planning and analysis, management reporting (drive relevance, brevity and accuracy), assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts and managing cash flow for the operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the business heads in developing new avenues to grow business, identifying new funding opportunities and the drafting of prospective budgets.
  
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash flows
• Prepare & analyse Financial modelling
• Ensure that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
• Produce Ontime statutory and internal financial reports
• Prepare and reconcile monthly profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and cash flow statements for multiple entities across multiple locations.
• Preparation of MIS, financial statements and drive the book closure & audit activities.
• Manage and drive output from the Financial and Corporate Accounting functions to ensure that deadlines and timelines are met, including:

1. All aspects relating to the preparation of the monthly management accounts
2. All GL, Revenue, Cash and bank reconciliations
3. Capex utilization compared to budgets
4. Monthly reports for the Finance, Investment and Audit Committee and the Board

• Prepare a detailed analysis of the management accounts identifying key variances from budget for inclusion in the monthly Finance report (MIS)

• Business Support
• Recommend changes that will improve the company's financial performance and financial controls
• Provide high-level advice to Senior Managers on all financial management and accounting issues
• Financial forecasting for new projects & arrangement of funds

• Resource Management & Team Development
• Identify and recommend training requirements for all direct reports
• Develop and encourage effective communication with and between staff
• Train, motivate, develop and support the new staff when required
• Manage teams with clearly defined objectives produce outstanding results

• Merger & Acquisition Management
• Liaise with Financial institution and Fund Managers for merger and acquisitions
• Business valuation , Merger , Due Diligence documentation & process
• Support in acquisition negotiations and help in carrying out financial modelling and valuation analysis

• Cost Estimation
• Make periodic validation of the project estimation process through comparisons between estimated and actual costs.

Department/ Function head may decide to assign one or more from the above responsibilities depending on the size/ scale of the Business/ Function.
