About the Role:
This is a role for an experienced professional from IT industry, who, as part of finance team, will partner with teams handling procurement and commercial related activities, including and primarily marketing and IT spends and will help to provide independent benchmarking with an overall objective of cost optimization and internal financial controls. The person will report to EVP- Finance and will play a critical role in reviewing, managing, and optimizing these strategic spend areas and ensuring that costs are within the approved budgets and meet test of financial prudence. This role is designed to support the company's evolving business requirements and will require a seasoned professional with in depth expertise in procurement management. The person will also be responsible for reviewing all commercial contracts (vendors, suppliers, customers) from finance perspective and if and when required, will join procurement teams during negotiation with external parties. The person should have been working in similar roles in an IT company, either as procurement specialist of as internal auditor/ controller focusing on these areas. The person should be capable of brining on board various alternate/ substitute options, if and when needed, to optimize costs or de-risk strategic vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end procurement activities inclduing marketing and IT-related expenditures, to provide independent benchmark.
- Collaborate closely with the procurement teams including marketing and IT departments to understand their strategic goals, requirements, and spending needs.
- Review and approve procurement strategies and commercial terms for marketing campaigns, vendor contracts, and IT infrastructure and services.
- Optimize procurement and spend management processes for cost efficiency, risk mitigation, internal financial controls and tax related compliances and alignment with business objectives.
- Support negotiations with key vendors, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements.
- Monitor and report on the performance of marketing and IT spend against budget, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive cost-effective marketing and IT investments, ensuring maximum return on investment (ROI).
- Automate entire P2P process and develop meaningful dashboards/ reports for review at CXO level and provide budget inputs to FP&A team.
- Monitor changes in procurement regulations, financial reporting requirements, and best practices to ensure the organization remains compliant.
- Manage and handle audit queries with respect to procurement and commercial contracts
- Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory obligations.
- Review processes, system changes and SOPs for procurement related processes and wherever needed, develop SOPs and checklists.
Qualifications:
- B.Tech /IT graduate with (preferred) post-graduate degree (PGDM/MBA) specializing in commercial contracts and procurement
- Minimum of 8- 10 years of experience in finance, procurement, and audit, with a strong background in the IT industry.
- Proven experience in managing procurement processes, particularly for marketing and IT-related spend.
- Demonstrated expertise in internal auditing, risk management, and compliance within an organization.
- Strong experience in negotiating and managing vendor contracts, including marketing and IT services.
- Experience in managing commercial and procurement operations in a high-growth, technology-driven business environment.
