Job Description
- Production Planning: Develop production plans and schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resources and minimizing production costs
- Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure that raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods are maintained at appropriate levels to meet production requirements and customer orders
- Demand Forecasting: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to forecast demand for products and materials, taking into account market trends and customer orders
- Materials Procurement: Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials and components needed for production
- Capacity Planning: Evaluate and optimize production capacity and resource utilization to meet production targets and deadlines
- Production Scheduling: Create detailed production schedules, considering resource availability, machine capacity, and workforce, to ensure smooth operations and on-time delivery
- Quality Control: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that production processes meet quality standards and that quality issues are promptly addressed
- Data Analysis: Analyze production and inventory data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to streamline processes
- Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvement initiatives, such as Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production and inventory performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics
