Summary:

AsmitA Organic Farms is seeking a motivated Packaging Specialist with a solid understanding

of food packaging materials and processes. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of

relevant experience managing packaging vendors, ensuring product quality, and optimizing

packaging operations. This role is integral to delivering our organic products with the highest

standards of safety, sustainability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vendor Management:
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with packaging vendors.
• Conduct vendor assessments and resolve quality or delivery issues.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and pricing.

• Packaging Material Selection:
• Research and evaluate innovative packaging materials and technologies.
• Ensure materials comply with food safety regulations.
• Conduct shelf-life testing to ensure optimal product preservation.
• Optimize materials for cost efficiency, product protection, and sustainability.

• Packaging Design:
• Collaborate with the in-house packaging design team to develop effective packaging solutions.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless packaging integration.

• Packaging Operations:
• Monitor and ensure smooth packaging processes.
• Resolve equipment-related issues during production.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

• Cost Optimization:
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or functionality.
• Streamline processes and material usage to achieve operational savings.

• Quality Control:
• Inspect packaging materials and finished products to meet quality standards.
• Address packaging-related quality concerns promptly and effectively.

• Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay updated with food safety and packaging regulations.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and related standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Packaging Science, Food Science, or a relevant field preferred.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in food packaging or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of packaging materials, packaging design, and packaging engineering.
• Experience with shelf-life optimization for packaged products.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in monitoring and managing packaging operations and equipment.
