Ashtech - Senior System Administrator - VMware (4-5 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Should be able to provide Level 3 technical support.

- Adding and removing patches as per user / System requirements, building high-end servers (Dell, HP, IBM SUN, etc.

- Managing and troubleshooting server firmware upgrades.

- Installation/Kernel updation or client patching on RED HAT servers as client required configuration of Storage LUN.

- Adding and configuring Disks and creating new file systems.

- Able to enable and revoke privileges from users.

- NIC bonding using kernel module.

- Managing DNS server installation and configuration.

- Managing internal DNS server record addition/deletion.

- Sharing software and files using NFS, and AutoFS.

- VAPT observation remediation.

Requirements :

- Sound experience in Linux LVM, VxVM, and Solaris SVM.

- Should possess good knowledge of Server hardening.

- Should have good experience with P2V.

- Should have handled migration project from Old h/w to new h/w.

- Able to understand and troubleshoot technical errors along with detailed RCA.

- Should have a good understanding and be able to resolve performance issues.

- Hands-on experience in Veritas Volume Manager (encapsulating the root disk and breaking the mirror disk before making any changes on the root disk).

- Should have good knowledge of the ITIL process i.

- The incident, change, Problem management, etc.

- Good understanding of basic shell programming skills for system administration.

- Should have good documentation knowledge i.e. SOPs, Process documents, technical documentation.
