New Product Development Production Engineer

NPD-Production Engineer Job Description
We are looking to appoint an experienced Production Engineer to join the team to manage the production of the New development parts and ensure that the products are produced efficiently, as per the production plan and that the finished products are of good quality and exactly meet the customers specifications.
Role & Responsibilities:

• Performing market research to understand market requirements for new product development.
• Identifying the needs of the company and integrating market research to determine the needs and goals of new products.
• Conceptualizing new product ideas by using CAD software to design prototypes.
• Fabricating prototypes for testing.
• Testing products throughout the design process to troubleshoot any potential problems.
• Sampling different materials, manufacturing processes, design tolerances, and other factors to find the best ones that suit the new product brief.
• Fine-tuning designs until they are ready for production.
• Creating product specifications and procedures for production purposes and ensuring that the samples as well as the initial production lots are manufactured exactly as per customer requirements.
• Analyzing existing products to identify areas for improvement and updating current documentation.
• Developing quality control criteria and safety guidelines and ensuring that all team members adhere to them.

The role will include but not be limited to:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering will be advantageous.
• Experience of 6-7 years.
• Previous experience in new product development.
• Industry-specific product experience will be advantageous. Especially from filter manufacturing companies like Fleetguard/Mahle/Donaldson/Mann+Hummel etc.
• Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control protocols.
• Experience with 3D modeling software and report writing programs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent math, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
