Purchase Head - Chemicals (11-14 yrs)

- Source Raw Materials & Finished Goods both Import and Indigenous for Indian operations

- Source raw materials & Finished Goods both Import and Indigenous for other sites in the world whenever required

- Handle Capital and consumable purchases for Indian opeMstions and if required for other worldwide sites also

- Constantly keep abreast of market developments and identify new & alternate vendors for purchase of materials

- Ensure our purchase prices are at an optimal level and we get the best deal available in the market

- Ensure Safety of materials in transit and adhere to SHE policies

- Ensure that we have an optimum level of inventory in our factory

- Prepare price comparisons from various sources and circulate the same for suggestions to the Management Committee

- Prepare and submit to Management (both in India and worldwide) monthly MIS on Cost information, Supplier information, Product availability information etc.,

- Work in close association with other departments like Production, Quality Assurance, R&D, SHE, Finance to ensure smooth functioning of the plant

- Ensure that you and your team prepare purchase orders in SAP, keep track of all Purchase

- Requisitions received and ensure that they are converted to Purchase orders as per system requirement.

- Ensure that you and your team create vendor masters in SAP and ensure that parameters like lead time, lot size, pack size are properly updated in the system to enable accurate purchasing.

- Follow up Purchase orders and keep production/planning departments informed as to the correct date of arrival/receipt of materials.

- Liaise closely with suppliers for negotiation of credit terms and on-time supply from them.

- Provide forecast to all suppliers for material requirements.

- Ensure imported materials are cleared from customs as per legal provisions and within reasonable time frame. Should work closely with the clearing agent.

- Interact with customs officials in case of any dispute which may arise during clearance of imported materials.

- Ensure that clearance from Special Valuation Board (SVB) is obtained once in 3 years as per Customs law.

- Apply for and keep records of Advance license and ensure redemption of Advance License on time.

- Ensure that you and your team maintain all relevant files and ensure quick retrieval of documents like Bill of lading, Bill of Entry, Invoice etc. relating to all import transactions, for any future reference/requirement.

- Any other job assigned from time to time.
