Job Description

Job Summary:


We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to negotiate and close deals effectively. The position is specifically for our freight forwarding company specializing in B2B logistics, requiring expertise in logistics, supply chain management, and international trade.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


Business Growth & Strategy:


  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the B2B logistics and freight forwarding industry.
  • Conduct market research to analyze trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in the logistics sector.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve company objectives in freight forwarding and supply chain solutions.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, and other businesses requiring freight forwarding services.
  • Engage with potential customers through networking, cold calls, meetings, and presentations.
  • Understand client requirements related to logistics and provide customized solutions for their supply chain needs.

Sales & Revenue Generation:


  • Meet and exceed sales targets for freight forwarding and B2B logistics services.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales pitches, proposals, and presentations tailored to logistics and supply chain clients.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to maximize profitability while ensuring competitive service offerings.

Collaboration & Teamwork:


  • Work closely with internal teams such as operations, customer service, and transportation to ensure seamless execution of business strategies.
  • Provide feedback and insights from clients to help improve freight forwarding and logistics offerings.

Reporting & Analysis:


  • Track and report on business development activities, progress, and performance metrics specific to B2B logistics and freight forwarding.
  • Maintain CRM databases with updated client information and sales activities.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management on logistics market trends and business opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:


  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and drive business growth in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Experience in market research and competitor analysis within the logistics sector.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in international freight forwarding, transportation, and supply chain solutions.
  • Existing network of industry contacts and potential clients in the logistics sector.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing market conditions in freight forwarding.
