About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Business Head with a proven track record in managing & growing a business. Experience in digital marketing and B2C sales to lead and shape our marketing and sales strategies is required. As a key leader in our growing EdTech company, you will be responsible for developing and executing digital-first growth strategies, driving revenue growth, and managing the overall P&L. This is a strategic role where you will spearhead initiatives to expand market reach, optimize customer acquisition, and build a high-performance sales and marketing team.
Role and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing and sales strategies to boost brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth in the competitive EdTech market.
- Collaborate with senior management to align marketing and sales goals with the company's overall business objectives.
P&L Ownership:
- Take full responsibility for managing the sales and marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve profitability.
- Continuously monitor financial performance, adjusting strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Digital Marketing Expertise:
- Lead the planning and execution of data-driven digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, including paid media, SEO/SEM, content marketing, social media, and email marketing.
- Optimize the use of analytics tools to track campaign performance, customer engagement, and conversion rates, making necessary adjustments to enhance effectiveness.
B2C Sales Strategy:
- Drive B2C sales efforts, ensuring a seamless customer journey from lead generation to conversion.
- Oversee the development of customer retention strategies, leveraging CRM systems and other sales tools to maximize lifetime customer value.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales and marketing team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional development within the team.
Market Insights & Product Strategy:
- Stay ahead of industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
- Use market research and customer insights to guide the product marketing strategy, positioning, and pricing.
- Collaborate closely with the product team to align offerings with market demands.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Work cross-functionally with product, customer support, and technology teams to ensure seamless delivery of marketing and sales initiatives.
- Communicate with key stakeholders to report on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities for the Role:
- Digital Marketing: Deep expertise in managing digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, PPC, social media, content, email). Experience with marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and advanced analytics.
- Sales Leadership: Ability to define and execute sales strategies that align with digital marketing efforts, focusing on customer acquisition, retention, and growth.
- Financial Acumen: Proven experience in managing budgets and P&L, ensuring a balance between investment in marketing and return on spend.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to inspire teams and interact effectively with stakeholders.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to translate metrics into actionable insights for marketing and sales optimisation.
Education and Experience:
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in digital marketing and B2C sales, ideally within the EdTech or similar consumer-driven industries.
- Significant P&L management experience, with a demonstrated ability to drive profitability while scaling marketing and sales operations.
- Strong track record of leading large-scale digital marketing campaigns with measurable success in customer acquisition and revenue growth.
