FinOps Engineer/Architect - Azure Platform (6-11 yrs)

Required Skills and Qualifications :

1. Technical Expertise :

- Strong knowledge of Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, App Services, etc.).

- Experience with Azure Cost Management + Billing and other Azure-native cost optimization tools.

2. Financial Management :

- Proficiency in cloud cost modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Knowledge of pricing models, reserved instances, and Azure Savings Plans.

3. FinOps Principles :

- Deep understanding of FinOps frameworks, including Assess, Govern, and Operate phases.

- Experience in implementing chargeback or showback processes.

4. Analytical Skills :

- Strong data analysis skills, including experience with Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.

- Ability to analyze cost data and present actionable insights.

5. Soft Skills :

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across engineering, finance, and leadership teams.

6. Certifications (Preferred) :

- Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-900).

- FinOps Certified Practitioner or Advanced Practitioner.

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive cloud cost management strategy across multiple platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).

- Collaborate with finance, engineering, and operations teams to drive cloud cost optimization initiatives.

- Implement automated tools for tracking, monitoring, and reporting cloud expenditures.

- Create and refine processes for cloud cost allocation, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Establish and maintain KPIs and metrics for cloud financial performance.

- Conduct detailed analysis of cloud usage patterns, identifying trends and cost-saving opportunities.

- Educate internal stakeholders on financial best practices in the cloud environment.

- Assist in the design and implementation of cloud pricing models and cost optimization strategies.

- Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting related to cloud spend and savings.

- Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to negotiate and manage cloud service contracts.

- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify innovative ways to optimize cloud cost management.
