Business Development - Placements

Brief of the Role

This role will focus on expanding the network with potential recruiters and enhancing placement opportunities for students. This role involves proactive industry engagement, identifying and pursuing new opportunities and managing relationships with key corporate partners to increase placement success rates and create meaningful employment opportunities for students.

Role & responsibilities

Business Development and Outreach

• Identify and target new companies and industries for placement partnerships focusing on sectors with high growth and employment potential.
• Build and maintain relationships with recruiters, HR managers and hiring decision-makers across various sectors.
• Develop strategies to attract more companies to recruit from the Aptech student talent pool.

Industry Research and Analysis

• Conduct research on emerging industries and job roles to align with industry trends and demands.
• Monitor job market trends to anticipate and respond to new opportunities for student placements.
• Analyse competitor placement activities and identify potential areas for collaboration or competitive advantage.

Performance Reporting and Metrics

• Track and report on business development activities including outreach, partnership conversions and placement rates.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on placement outcomes, corporate engagements and challenges.
• Use placement metrics to assess the effectiveness of initiatives and improve processes.

Placement Process Coordination

• Coordinate with internal placement teams to ensure seamless execution of campus placement activities.
• Act as a point of contact for recruiters during placement drives, addressing any queries and ensuring an efficient process.
• Gather feedback from companies post-placement and identify areas for improvement.

Student Engagement and Support

• Work closely with Business Partners and internal academics and business development teams to provide placement-related insights.
• Conduct pre-placement activities like resume-building workshops, interview preparation sessions and industry orientation for students.
• Help ensure students are well-prepared and aware of industry expectations and opportunities.

Relationship Management

• Maintain long-term relationships with existing placement partners and ensure regular engagement through events, follow-ups and updates.
• Develop and nurture connections with alumni in relevant industries to expand the placement network.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and develop new partnership opportunities.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's /Masters degree in Business Administration.
• 10-12 years of professional experience.
• Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience in business development, placements, corporate relations or recruitment.
