Lead 3D Generalist

Minimum of 12 years of experience as a 3D Generalist, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in Unity XR projects.

This position will play a crucial role in creating high-quality 3D assets for our Unity XR projects. Will collaborate with artists, designers, and developers to bring immersive environments and characters to life. Extensive experience will help guide the team in best practices for modeling, texturing, and optimizing assets for real-time applications. Work with PM to define the timelines etc.

Role & responsibilities

• 3D Asset Creation: Design, model, and texture high-quality 3D assets for Unity-based AR, VR, and XR projects.
• Texturing and Materials: Create and apply textures and materials that enhance visual fidelity while maintaining performance standards in Unity.
• Rigging and Animation: Rig and animate 3D models as required, ensuring smooth and realistic movements for interactive applications.
• Optimization: Optimize 3D assets for performance in VR/AR environments, ensuring high frame rates and a smooth user experience.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Unity programmers to ensure seamless integration of 3D assets into the project.
• Project Management: Create effort estimates and work breakdowns for the current team, ensuring efficient task allocation and project timelines.
• Training and Development: Provide training in new tools and techniques as needed, fostering continuous learning and improvement for the team.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all 3D assets and ensure they meet project requirements.
• Innovation: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to bring innovative solutions to our projects.

Preferred candidate profile

• Technical Skills: Proficient in industry-standard 3D software (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max) and Unity.
• Artistic Skills: Strong understanding of color theory, lighting, and composition, with the ability to create visually compelling assets.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges in asset creation and integration.
• Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• XR Knowledge: Experience with VR/AR development and an understanding of performance optimization techniques specific to XR platforms.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Visual Design, Game Design, Animation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
