Job Description
About the Role
As a ATL/TL (Node.js), you will leverage your expertise in advanced JavaScript and Node.js to develop high-performance backend solutions. You will ensure the seamless integration of real-time technologies, asynchronous programming patterns, and advanced threading techniques to optimize performance across platforms. Your role will involve working with cloud infrastructure, including AWS services like EC2, SQS, SNS, and Lambda, while also collaborating on database technologies such as MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. You will contribute to all phases of development, focusing on delivering scalable, efficient, and secure applications for both desktop and mobile platforms.
What you ll do - Expert in advanced JavaScript, strong coding proficiency with Node.js and its frameworks.
- Understanding of the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds.
- Working knowledge of Promises, call back hell and ways to avoid it.
- Experience with real-time technologies like engine.io, socket.io (preferred)
- AWS experience including EC2, SQS, SNS, Lambda, API Gateway a plus
- Familiarity with database technologies such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
- Restful web services, service-oriented architectures.
- Experience with threading, and performance tuning
- Understanding of the differences between multiple deliveries platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop and optimising output to match the specific platform
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
- Hands-on experience on Live Streaming tools and real-time communication.
- Bachelor s of computer science or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a solid foundation in Node.js and its frameworks, such as NestJS, Hapi, and Express.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming concepts, including Promises, Async/Await, and techniques to avoid callback hell.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms with the ability to implement efficient solutions.
- Proficiency in databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and caching systems like Redis.
- Familiarity with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.
- Experience with microservices, gRPC, and Kafka for distributed systems is a plus.
- Experience with threading and performance tuning for optimal application performance.
- Knowledge of differences between platforms (e.g., mobile vs. desktop) and the ability to optimize output accordingly.
- Basic understanding of server-side logic, authentication, and authorization.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for working within a collaborative team environment.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and development.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet project goals and deadlines.
