Job Description

  • Recruit, train, develop and manage effectively the ongoing performance of direct reports, by:
  • Ensuring Job Descriptions are reviewed, signed and filed annually,
  • Reviewing and updating employee development plans, ensuring that all employees are properly trained and qualified to execute their duties,
  • Providing coaching, feedback and recognition.
  • Co-ordinate, assign, supervise and review all maintenance activities and outcomes to ensure production equipment is in qualified condition.
  • Develop systems and metrics to measure and evaluate both productivity and individual performance and contribution on an on-going basis.
  • Provide results-orientated leadership and guide the initiation and execution of safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement initiatives in support of Business Objectives.
  • Provide strong leadership to the team that fosters personal development, interaction and participation.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key business partners within and outside of Production Technical.
  • Execute the maintenance strategy according to plan, through clear communication, meeting timelines and engaging the team at all levels while ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Supervise the team in accordance with Ontario
  • Occupation Health and Safety Act
  • , Apotex Health & Safety policies and Safe Work procedures (SWPs), and Employment policies (e.g. Respect in the Workplace - Prevention of Violence and/or Harassment).
  • Provide recommendations regarding procedural and organizational changes.
  • Resolve employee issues within the department with the involvement of the next level of management and human resources as required.
  • Drive the key SAP maintenance metrics of proactive maintenance; PM compliance, schedule adherence, breakdowns, backlog and reliability.
  • Ensure the maintenance team is aligned to all departmental and corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a specialized manufacturing resource to senior management to support resolution of complex technical and equipment related issues.
  • Serve as departmental representative in the absence of the department manager.
  • Work as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes.
  • Participate and lead performance conversations with employees, including monthly one on ones, to connect on performance; check in on employee s progress toward achieving Objectives, offer support and remove barriers; and, communicate and revisit performance expectations to reinforce and encourage high performance culture and a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Utilize open, honest, two way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners and direct leader while continuously improving leadership capabilities by personally seeking feedback and development.
  • Create a culture which values trust and provides the opportunity for Employee development and growth in pursuit of our purpose and demonstrating our core Values - Collaboration, Courage, Perseverance and Passion.
