About the Role :
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of IT to lead our technology initiatives and drive the effective use of technology in enhancing the educational/learner experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT management, experience in the EdTech sector, and a passion for leveraging technology to improve learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Technology Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals and objectives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in the EdTech space to ensure the organization remains competitive and innovative.
2. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Foster a culture of innovation within the IT team, encouraging the exploration of new tools and methodologies to enhance educational experiences.
- Continuously assess and improve IT processes, ensuring they are efficient and effective in supporting departmental goals of different business units/functions.
3. Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and data centers.
- Ensure that systems are secure, reliable, and scalable to support the organization's needs.
4. Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide professional development opportunities, and ensure team members are equipped to meet organizational goals.
5. Project Management:
- Manage technology projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables.
6. Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Prepare and manage the IT budget, optimizing resource allocation and assessing cost-effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through technology solutions and vendor management.
7. Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers,
negotiating contracts and ensuring service levels are met.
- Stay informed about the latest EdTech products and solutions to make informed decisions regarding partnerships.
8. Data Management and Security:
- Ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of data management practices,
including adherence to relevant legal and regulatory standards
- Develop and enforce data privacy policies and procedures.
9. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between IT and other departments, ensuring that technology initiatives are aligned with the needs of educators, students and administrative staff.
- Present IT strategies, updates, and project outcomes to senior management and key stakeholders.
10. User Support and Training:
- Develop strategies for user support, ensuring that students, educators, and staff receive timely assistance with technology-related issues.
- Create and implement training programs to enhance the effective use of technology in educational settings.
