Service Reliability Engineer

As a Service Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Design and implement software / tools that improves the stability, scalability, availability and latency of ION MMI platform
Be a problem solver and ensure high availability of our production system
Create solutions and automation that prevent issues from recurring
Construct effective system to monitor the health of the platform and proactively handle outages
Work in collaborative teams to build innovative solutions
Share the on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for incidents
Participate in the documentation effort through precise transcripts of incident post-mortems, problem description and overall quality documentation
Utilises tools and practices to build, verify and deploy solutions in the most efficient ways, enhancing tech division capabilities
Implements a culture within the Tribe and the Chapter, encouraging best practices around reviews, quality and documentation
Contributes to Engineering communities, meetups and conferences to promote technology development culture and practices
Provide ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident management
Creates estimates and continuously reviews demand within the individual Squads/teams
May create, understand and monitor application metrics

Experienced working with operations and architecture groups developing scalable and supportable solutions (desired but not mandatory)
Experience with building & maintaining complex, scalable, and distributed systems
Good understanding of Software Engineering and Computer Science principles
Understand customer needs to make sound judgments
Pay attention to the detail and demonstrates problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality solutions
Understanding of current state landscape and relevant technologies
Has a broad understanding of how to apply New Ways of Working to their role

Specialised Skills

Hands-on experience in ION MMI and its suite of products
A desire to write tools and applications to automate work, eg. with Python rather than do everything manually.
Strong programming and scripting fundamentals in Java, Python, Javascript, Powershell/Shell
Experience in standardised systems configuration / installation / deploy tools -uDeploy.
Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
