The Medical Officer at the Palliative Healthcare Centre is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses. This role involves managing complex medical conditions, addressing symptoms, and enhancing the quality of life for patients while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care:
• Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine their medical needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide direct medical care, including the management of symptoms, pain relief, and treatment of complications related to terminal illnesses.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
2. Symptom Management:
• Address and manage symptoms such as pain,nausea, fatigue, and other distressing conditions in patients with life-limiting illnesses.
• Utilize appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions to improve patient comfort and quality of life.
3. Care Coordination:
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team,including nurses, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to discuss care plans, treatment options, and end-of-life decisions.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient, documenting assessments, treatments, and patient responses.
• Prepare and review reports as required, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
5. Patient and Family Support:
• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and helping them navigate the palliative care process.
• Educate patients and families about the disease progression, care options, and available resources.
6. Quality Improvement:
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the standard of care provided by the palliative healthcare centre.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines.
7. Education and Training:
• Stay current with advancements in palliative care and medical practices through continuous professional development.
• Mentor and support junior medical staff and contribute to educational activities within the centre.

Qualifications:

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Valid medical license to practice, preferred Haryana Medical Council Registration.
• Must Have experience in ICU for 6months.
