Head - Design & Engineering

Purpose of Role:

- To lead and oversee the design, development, and engineering efforts for the Batching Plant product vertical.

- This role involves driving innovation, optimizing designs, ensuring compliance with standards, and delivering cost-effective, high-quality solutions tailored for both domestic and global markets.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

Leadership & Team Management:

- Head the Batching Plant vertical, managing a multidisciplinary team of mechanical engineers.

- Mentor, evaluate, and enhance the capabilities of the engineering team.

Product Design & Development:

- Lead the design and development of Batching Plants, Belt Conveyor Systems, Material Feeding Systems, and Concrete Mixing Systems.

- Innovate new solutions to cater to market demands and global standards.

- Optimize designs to reduce costs and enhance performance.

Project Execution:

- Collaborate with sales and project teams to create customer-specific configurations.

- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for on-time delivery.

Compliance & Standards:

- Ensure adherence to Indian and international standards related to batching plants.

- Develop and implement engineering protocols, standards, and procedures.

Technical Problem-Solving:

- Identify and resolve technical challenges efficiently.

- Provide technical guidance and approvals for documentation, drawings, and specifications.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to align project objectives and expectations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Project Timeliness: Percentage of projects completed within defined timelines.

- Cost Optimization: Reduction in product costs through design improvements.

Technical Competencies:

- Proficiency in mechanical CAD/CAE tools: Creo, SolidWorks, Ansys.

- Expertise in NPD processes, DFMEA, FEA, GD&T, and structural design.

- Knowledge of PLM/SAP systems and material standards.

- Strong foundation in design optimization, product validation, and testing processes.

- Understanding of welding processes, structural integrity, and engineering materials.

- Up-to-date knowledge of global advancements in concrete batching equipment.
