Principal DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure (8-10 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team in Mumbai.

You will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our robust and scalable cloud infrastructure.

This position requires a deep understanding of DevOps principles, cloud platforms, automation tools, and a passion for continuous improvement.

You will be a key contributor to ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our systems.

Responsibilities :

- Cloud Infrastructure Design and Implementation : Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, adhering to best practices and security guidelines.

- This includes architecting solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.

- Automation and Orchestration : Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

- CI/CD Pipeline Management : Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

- Automate build, test, and deployment processes to ensure rapid and reliable releases.

- Monitoring and Performance Optimization : Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions using tools like Zabbix, CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.

- Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal system performance and uptime.

- Backup and Recovery : Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity and data integrity.

- Regularly test and validate these strategies.

- Security and Compliance : Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations.

- Implement security hardening measures and vulnerability management processes.

- Collaboration and Mentorship : Collaborate effectively with development, operations, and security teams.

- Mentor junior DevOps engineers and share best practices.

- Continuous Improvement : Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps trends and technologies.

- Proactively identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions.

- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving : Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex system issues.

- Identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- 8-10 years of experience in DevOps engineering, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and microservices architecture.

- Strong Linux/Unix administration skills.

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting.

- Hands-on experience with at least one of the major cloud platforms : AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Extensive experience with CI/CD tools (e.g, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g, Terraform, CloudFormation).

- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g, Zabbix, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g, Ansible, Chef, Puppet) is a plus.
