Senior Procurement Manager

About the role:

The Raw Material Sourcing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement of raw materials essential for the production process. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring cost-efficiency, and maintaining consistent quality standards. The manager will collaborate with various departments such as production, product development, procurement, and quality assurance to ensure timely and efficient material availability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sourcing Strategy Development:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive sourcing strategy for raw materials and services that align with the company's production and business needs.

- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to optimize supply chains.

- Continuously monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of raw materials.

2. Supplier Relationship Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure high-quality materials, timely deliveries, and cost efficiency.

- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

- Manage supplier performance, addressing any issues related to quality, pricing, or delivery.

3. Cost Management:

- Identify cost-saving opportunities in the procurement of raw materials and other allied products.

- Continuously assess and benchmark supplier pricing to ensure competitiveness.

4. Risk Management:

- Assess risks associated with supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans.

- Ensure a diversified supplier base to mitigate supply risks.

5. Quality Assurance:

- Ensure all raw materials meet the companys quality standards and specifications.

- Work with quality assurance teams to address any quality issues or inconsistencies with suppliers.

7. Compliance & Sustainability:

- Ensure all sourcing activities are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

8. Continuous Improvement:

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.

- Stay updated on industry best practices, technologies, and innovations in raw material sourcing.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

- 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on raw material sourcing.

- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.

- Solid understanding of market dynamics, sourcing strategies, and supply chains.

- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
