About the Role:


An Audit Investigator will be responsible for conducting comprehensive investigations to assess, detect, and resolve discrepancies, fraud, or misconduct within the organization's financial and operational activities. The role requires a deep understanding of audit processes, investigative techniques, and regulatory compliance standards. The investigator will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to safeguard the integrity of the company's financial and operational systems.


Reporting To: Head Audit


Your Key Responsibilities:

• Fraud Detection and Prevention:

Lead investigations into suspected fraud, misconduct, and irregularities within the companys financial records and operational activities.

Use forensic accounting techniques to uncover evidence of financial mismanagement, theft, or non-compliance with policies.

Evaluate internal controls, assess vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements to mitigate the risk of fraud and misconduct.

  • Audit Investigations:

Conduct detailed audits and investigations related to financial transactions, contracts, procurement, and operational procedures.

Identify discrepancies, report findings, and make recommendations for corrective actions.

Analyze financial statements, transaction records, and business processes to identify irregularities and risks.

  • Compliance Assurance:

Ensure compliance with local, state, and Central laws, regulations, and industry standards during the investigation process.

Work with legal, compliance, and regulatory teams to ensure that all findings are appropriately addressed and that necessary actions are taken.

Maintain thorough knowledge of relevant compliance regulations and auditing standards.

  • Data Collection & Reporting:

Gather and preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and document findings related to audit investigations.

Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive reports detailing investigation results, including supporting documentation and recommendations.

Present findings to senior management, the board of directors, or regulatory authorities as required.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, legal, HR) to conduct investigations and resolve issues.

Provide guidance and support to department heads and other stakeholders regarding risk management and compliance issues.

Serve as a subject matter expert on internal controls, fraud prevention, and audit investigation procedures.

  • Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated on the latest industry trends, investigative techniques, and audit technologies.

Suggest process improvements and contribute to the development of better internal audit practices and fraud detection methods.


Experience & Education Required:


  • 3-5 years of experience in auditing, forensic accounting, or investigative roles.
  • Experience in forensic investigation, fraud detection, or compliance audits is preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing investigations and reporting findings to senior leadership or regulatory authorities.
  • CA with FAFD Certification
  • Certification in Fraud Examination (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Key Skills and Attributes:


  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with an ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and discrepancies in financial data.
  • In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, financial accounting principles, and legal frameworks.
  • Proficiency in audit software, spreadsheets, and data analytics tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex findings in a clear, actionable manner.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Working Conditions:


  • The role may require occasional travel to conduct field investigations or audits at different business locations.
