Warehouse Supervisor

Role & responsibilities

• Department Handling:

I. Oversee the entire warehouse department, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to company policies.

II. Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, production, and sales, to align warehouse activities with organizational goals.

• Manpower Management:

I. Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of warehouse personnel.

II. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure optimal utilization of resources.

III. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skill set of the team.

• Stock Audit and Inventory Management:

I. Conduct regular stock audits to ensure accurate inventory records.

II. Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed.

III. Ensure proper storage practices to prevent damage or loss.

• Inbound and Outbound Operations:

I. Oversee inward and outward movement of goods, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality.

II. Verify shipments, reconcile discrepancies, and manage returns or replacements as needed.

III. Ensure timely dispatch of orders and maintain a smooth supply chain.

• Quality Control:

I. Inspect goods upon arrival and dispatch to meet quality standards.

II. Address and resolve any issues related to defective or mismatched items.

• Data and Systems Management:

I. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to maintain and track inventory.

II. Generate and analyse reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement.

III. Stay updated with relevant software and tools for efficient operations.

• Headhunting and Recruitment:

I. Identify and recruit skilled personnel for the warehouse team.

II. Ensure effective onboarding and integration of new team members.

• Health, Safety, and Compliance:

I. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

II. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar role, preferably in the clothing or retail industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Hands-on experience with inventory management systems and stock audits.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office (Excel, Word) and warehouse software.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Prior experience in the clothing or apparel industry.
• Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
