Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Pune, MH/ Chennai, TN (Work from Office)

Position Description

• Collaborate with engineering teams to support services before they go live through system design consulting, developing software platforms, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
• Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and system health.
• Develop tools and automation on GCP or any cloud platform to minimize manual intervention
• Scale systems sustainably through automation and evolve systems to improve reliability and velocity
• Participate in on-call rotations
• Practice sustainable incident response and conduct blameless postmortems
• Implement automated solutions for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD)
• Set up monitoring, logging, alerting, and SLA reporting
• Develop and maintain technical documentation
• Apply SRE best practices
• Lead high-severity incident resolution
• Support planning and deployment teams to ensure stability, predictability, and scalability
• Collaborate with the Platform Engineering team on strategic initiatives, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative environment
• Work cross-functionally with internal teams and vendors to manage global growth, focusing on maintaining high performance, availability, and reliability for users.

Minimum Qualification

• 2+ years of SRE or DevOps experience in a large-scale retail industry.
• Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technology stacks.
• Proficient in Java and scripting languages (Python, Node.js, Golang, Bash, etc.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and cloud applications.
• Passionate about writing scalable, maintainable, fast, and reliable code for worldwide, multi-tenant applications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) including foundational knowledge of cloud services, deployment models, and scalability concepts.
• Experience with internet-scale distributed technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, GCP Data Flow, Kafka, Memcache, etc.).
• Relevant experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, Cassandra, MariaDB, etc.).
• Proficiency with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenObserve).
• Knowledge of AIOps implementation is a plus.
