Assistant Manager - NPD

Role & responsibilities:

1. Lead the NPD team, ensuring timely and efficient project execution while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

2. Develop and implement strategies for new product introductions, lifecycle management, and seamless transition from concept to production.

3. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones, ensuring design feasibility, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.

4. Monitor production output, analyze downtime, and execute preventive maintenance schedules to optimize program cycle times and minimize disruptions.

5. Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation of new products, ensuring compliance with quality standards and reliability requirements.

6. Conduct risk assessments for new products, verify BOM, CAD, and Gerber files, and prepare critical documents like process flow charts, PFMEA, and control plans.

7. Evaluate new equipment to enhance quality, reduce downtime, and ensure alignment with industry advancements and best practices.

8. Manage ECN/PCN processes, assess impacts on cost and quality, and ensure transparent communication and implementation tracking with stakeholders.

9. Stay informed on emerging industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team and processes.

Preferred candidate profile:

1. Bachelors degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

2. Masters degree (MBA/Engineering) is a plus.

3. 5 - 8 years of experience in New Product Development within the EMS or manufacturing industry.

4. Proven track record of managing product design, development, and lifecycle in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

5. Understanding of EMS industry trends, customer requirements, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC standards).
