The Quality Manager in the retail industry is responsible for ensuring that products, services, and processes meet established quality standards. They oversee quality control procedures, manage compliance with regulations, and work closely with suppliers, store teams, and corporate management to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance & Control:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures.
Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Monitor product quality, store hygiene, and customer service standards.
2. Supplier & Product Quality Management:
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure product consistency and adherence to specifications.
Investigate and resolve product quality issues or defects.
Manage product recalls and corrective actions when necessary.
3. Compliance & Regulatory Standards:
Ensure compliance with retail industry regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies.
Stay updated with legal and regulatory requirements affecting product quality and safety.
Prepare and submit reports on compliance and quality performance.
4. Customer Satisfaction & Feedback Management:
Analyze customer complaints and feedback to identify areas for improvement.
Implement strategies to enhance customer experience and reduce quality-related issues.
Work with store teams to train employees on quality standards and best practices.
5. Continuous Improvement & Training:
Develop training programs for employees to improve product knowledge and quality awareness.
Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in store operations and product handling.
Implement data-driven quality control measures to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelors degree in Business, Quality Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in quality management, preferably in the retail or consumer goods industry.
Strong knowledge of quality control standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to lead audits, manage supplier relationships, and conduct root cause analysis.
Strong communication and leadership skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and reporting tools.
