Job Purpose / Role

The main purpose of this role is to provide accurate accounting administration and cash flows regarding quality, quantity and adherence to delivery dates concerning insurance business with AGCS clients, local brokers, and insurers. Additionally, the role manages payment transactions and bank account reconciliation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordination, clarification and balancing of unbalanced items and resolution of differences

• Ensure that all accounts receivable / payables are settled and collected as per agreed terms of settlement.

• Identify and analyze all accounts differences and liaise with Underwriting and the brokers to ensure that all items are booked correctly and differences are resolved in a professional manner and on a timely basis. Establish and maintain an abeyance system.

• Recommend write offs where applicable.

• Processing

• Perform credit control function of Accounts Receivable/Payable and related account reconciliations as assigned.

• Coordination, transfer and reconcilation of data from interfaces of front-end systems.

• Execute settlements with brokers and insurers particularly the control of outstanding balances of AGCS.

• On an ongoing basis, properly account for all collections through timely application in the SAP system, processing ADP files and booking in the GL. Prepare monthly cash, receivable / payable and other account reconciliations and related journal entries.

• Project work as assigned

• Collaboration and Customer Service

• Work collaboratively with other Functional areas (Operations, Accounting, Claims) in establishing processes, booking flows and accuracy completeness controls.

• Work with third party collection agencies as required.

• Maintain a collaborative relationship with external brokers. Provide professional and timely customer service to internal and external customers.

Key Experience / Requirements / Skills

Required Education/ Experience

• Graduate Degree.

• Proven understanding of credit control practice and principles.

• Professional experience in reinsurance, P&C insurance and / or asset management.

Required General skills

• Fluent in English

• Written and verbal communication skills.

• Presentation skills in a various internal and external settings

• Organisational and interpersonal skills

• Business knowledge and professional disposition
