Senior BI and data product analyst (Process Excellence)

Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity to join an expanding Business Intelligence Team and contribute towards intelligence-led change and innovation. The Senior BI and data product analyst will contribute to delivering an effective and high-quality Business Intelligence and Reporting service to RWSs external and internal customers. The Business Intelligence Analyst will help the business to leverage the data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential issues. They will be able to gather requirements, manage stakeholders and schedule data projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Influence major business decisions based on advanced statistical analysis of all known data information to allocate resources, improve efficiencies, and support business operations of all departments
• Manage multiple projects to completion
• Leverage stakeholder relationships to understand business challenges and collaboratively define and document precise business requirements for specific projects
• Create, analyze, and optimize process flows using tools like Visio and other BPM software
• Provide leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating information gathering, structured documentation and presentation of findings to all levels of the business
• Design, develop, model, and create data structures to integrate, prepare, and generate reports
• Develop and build dashboards and visualizations in Sisense or similar BI tools
• Work with the Business to ensure they can utilize project output for data driven decisions
• Breakdown requirements, simplify architectures, and collaborate with other business teams to deliver intelligent data solutions in line with defined objectives and results
• Liaise with internal and external clients to fully understand data content
• Identify performance, visualization, and reporting challenges, and suggest code and architectures improvements
• Prepare reports for internal and external audiences using business analytics reporting tools
• Mine and analyze large datasets, draw valid inferences, and present them successfully to the business
• Produce and track key performance indicators
• Develop and support reporting processes
• Monitor and audit data quality
• Collaborate with various teams across the organization to understand process pain points and drive initiatives for process improvements
• Implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions for process optimization
• Design and implement automation solutions using tools like Python to streamline workflows and increase productivity

Skills & Experience

• Total Experience in Process Excellence of 8Years
• Motivated self-starter who does not shy away from challenging the status quo
• Good knowledge of SQL
• Good command of BI tools such as Sisense
• Data Warehouse experience
• Data Modelling experience advantageous
• Knowledge of Azure will be preferred
• Experience with programming languages (Python, R, JavaScript)
• Expertise in building ML/statistical Models as per the business use case
• Knowledge and practical experience in applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies for process improvements
• Very good command of Excel
• Strong problem-solving abilities involving identifying the root cause of problems, assessing risks/impacts and determining and implementing effective solutions
• Strong presentation skills and an ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences in a clear, simple way, both written and verbally
• Analytical aptitude and interest in interrogating data to develop hypotheses and insights.
• Mathematics, statistics or economics are preferable
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation, especially in relation to written work
• Ability to manage multiple projects to completion
• Proactive and forward thinking
• Must work well in a team environment.
• Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team

Education/Certifications:

• Graduation in Mathematics, statistics or economics or MBA
• Mandatory Six sigma Black Belt Certified or equivalent (experience with Service Industry preferred)
• Statistical Analysis, Power Bi, Tableau, Six Sigma Black Belt, Hypothesis Testing, ANOVA - Preferably from Service Industry
