Job Description
- Designing, developing web-based application backends for Akamais internal and external customers utilizing Python based components and tools.
- Creating the underlying API functionality via our REST API
- Providing technical guidance in code reviews, design reviews, contributing to enhanced production support, effective resolution of issues.
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to develop new tools and features, evaluate future technology and library choices.
- Improving application performance, features, and reliability
- Have 7 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Demonstrate extensive experience with the full software development life cycle including code reviews, release management and support
- Show experience developing software in Python or other similar programming language
- Have experience with web application development, design patterns and frameworks such as REST-ful APIs, ORM layers, etc.
- Have experience with and knowledge of databases
- Have excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, particularly in advanced SQL, while being a team player
