Job Description
The Internal Audit Department reports to the Audit Committee of Akamais Board of Directors. The Departments charter is to systematically evaluate and recommend improvements for the effectiveness of various processes. This includes risk management, operational processes, and governance, to enable the organization meet its business objectives.

The Director of IT Audit will lead and occasionally perform cybersecurity audits of complex, high-traffic global networks. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, this role provides broad exposure to diverse and impactful projects.
As a Director Internal Audit, you will be responsible for:
- Setting the cybersecurity audit strategy by developing the annual plan and overseeing each audits scope.
- Conducting cybersecurity risk reviews and control assessments to align processes with leading industry best practices.
- Reporting results on a quarterly basis to internal stakeholders and executive management.
- Working closely with senior management on identified deficiencies or enhancements to ensure successful remediation.
- Monitoring organizational performance to identify areas where additional cybersecurity audit reviews could add value to the organization.
- Evaluating staff on departmental and personal goals while mentoring them to achieve personal and professional growth.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have an advanced degree and 8 -12 years of experience, with focus on information systems.
- Demonstrate cybersecurity expertise through management or audit roles in high-tech or telecom industries at senior manager or director levels.
- Have experience with leading Cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI and others
- Exhibit knowledge of cybersecurity controls and assess their adequacy by integrating business and technology risks
