Software Development Engineer in Test

Our team is responsible for extensive testing across multiple cutting-edge technologies and systems developed at Akamai. We seek an SDET to lead automated testing for Edge delivery products and platforms.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Creating test cases from feature designs, working closely with Development in an Agile team.
• Designing and developing object-oriented automation frameworks.
• Tracking testing status, analyzing root causes, and documenting defects.
• Providing strategic vision for automation and testing. Automation of Rest APIs/Open APIs across the projects
• Automating test cases using Python or Java or similar object-oriented scripting language.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a bachelors degree and a must understanding of Python
• Have an understanding of Linux internals. Exposure to networking concepts and web technologies such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
• Have an understanding of testing methodologies: white box, black box, functional, automation, performance
• Have python Python-based automation framework knowledge
• Have 0-2 years of as a QA engineer working with servers, network-related technologies, and automated test environments.
• Be able at problem-solving, ability to work with minimal supervision.
