Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in New Delhi. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in administering, developing, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases.

You will play a pivotal role in managing the database environment, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and seamless scalability to support the organization's mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Database Administration :

- Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.

- Ensure database availability, reliability, and integrity through regular maintenance and monitoring.

Development and Query Optimization :

- Write, review, and optimize complex T-SQL queries and stored procedures.

- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas and support application development.

Performance Tuning and Optimization :

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in database operations.

- Conduct query tuning, index optimization, and resource management for improved performance.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery :

- Configure and manage Always On High Availability (HA) and Failover Clustering solutions.

- Implement backup and recovery strategies, including T-log and Tail-log backups, to ensure minimal downtime.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting :

- Proactively monitor database systems to identify potential issues and resolve them promptly.

- Conduct root cause analysis for database errors and implement long-term fixes.

Security and Compliance :

- Implement and maintain database security policies and standards.

- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.

Documentation and Reporting :

- Prepare comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and workflows.

- Generate regular reports on database health, performance metrics, and capacity planning.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.

- Proficiency in MS SQL Server DBA operations and T-SQL query development.

- Expertise in performance tuning, indexing, and optimizing SQL Server databases.

- In-depth knowledge of Always On High Availability, Failover Clustering, and disaster recovery solutions.

- Strong understanding of transaction logs, tail-log backups, and advanced backup strategies.

- Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance standards.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certification in Microsoft SQL Server (e.g. , MCSA, MCSE) is a plus.

- Experience with cloud-based SQL Server solutions (e.g. , Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS).

- Knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell for automation.
