Senior engineer- VAVE

We are looking forward for a Lead Engieer to shape a rhobust VAVE pipeline across Eatons product portfolio comprising of Electrical sectors across Americas and EMEA region and E-Mobility segments. The candidate will be part of DtV (Design to Value) team. The primary function of this position is to focus and drive the Design to value/VAVE methodology by working closely with various Eaton business groups as a part of Direct Material Productivity (DMP) team.

Drive and shape DtV/VAVE portfolio by working closely with various Eaton business groups as part Direct Material Productivity (DMP) team. This involves close collaboration with various Eaton business group divisions and Global Procurement Organization to generate cost out opportunities.
She/He will be responsible for working on various aspects of Direct Material Productivity with the primary goal of identifying, developing, and maintaining services that deliver significant cost out opportunities as well as creating a robust pipeline of executable cost out projects.
The applicant should have capability to understand and analyze product margin data, product costed BOMs, leverage data analytics & ideation principles to create new project opportunities.
Drive DtV/VAVE portfolio growth in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in product focused cost out as well as in various technology areas
Identify cost out opportunities in different products and systems through benchmarking, teardown, competitor analysis, functionality analysis (FAST, FCW etc.) and study of applicable standards
Collaborate with global and local stakeholders/teams to efficiently develop and implement portfolio growth strategies for proactively influencing and providing value propositions for overall VAVE growth.
-Should have led and worked on the Design, VAVE for LV/MV Circuit Breaker, Contactor, Switch Disconnector, Electrical fuses, Panel boards, Relay products etc.
-Extensive experience working for product design, multiple material selections, raw material technical specifications, Cost reduction projects is required
-Strong knowledge and experties in Low & / or Medium Voltage power distribution products in terms of application, design considerations, working principles. The candidate should be able to estimate impact on product performance from changing material/components.
-Expertise in Product Teardown analysis, Design Benchmarking, Competitive Benchmarking, Function analysis and able to do & lead the technical evaluations with experts to make decisions
-Should have knowledge on the global design standards like IEC,UL,CSA, NEMA or any other compliance standard.
-Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement.
-Experience in PLM system is required to get drawings and cost data ( Enovia / SAP preferred) and analyse them to generate cost effective ideas
-Should have a strong relationship building capabilities within and outside the team, passion to learn new technologies and collaborate to achieve better outcomes for Cost savings opportunities.

Years and area of experience required: 10+ years experience in industry. Handling strategic portfolio for VAVE/cost out.
Demonstrated experiences with Manufacturing process, Customer interface, Continuous improvement methodologies
Application and Product knowledge of Electrical / Electro-mechanical / Mechanical / Electric vehicle products. Cost out portfolio building and execution. Hands on experience in Value Engineering principles & its deployment

Technical knowledge: Strong Experience in Product Design and its VAVE with hands on experience in Electrical / Electro-mechanical / Mechanical / Electric vehicle products development life cycle including requirements management, design, development, verification & validation, qualification & certification testing. Hands on experience on building cost out portfolio and execution. Strong Drive for result. Cost out process adherence.
