AIonOS - Engineering Manager - Data & AI Powered Platform (8-11 yrs)

Job Description :

We are looking for an Engineering Manager, to lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring the delivery of scalable and high-performance data and AI-driven solutions.

The ideal candidate will work closely with product, data, and platform teams to drive technical excellence and innovation while fostering a strong engineering culture. This role requires hands-on technical leadership, strategic decision-making, and effective collaboration across teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership & Execution :

- Lead end-to-end software development for AIonOS's data and AI-powered platforms.

- Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance systems and services.

- Collaborate with product and data teams to define technical roadmaps and priorities.

- Drive best practices in code quality, architecture, security, and DevOps.

Innovation & Process Improvement :

- Encourage experimentation with new technologies, and AI models.

- Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD, automation, and best practices.

- Collaborate with research teams to explore LLMs, agentic AI, and cutting-edge AI models.

Architecture & Design :

- Drive system architecture decisions for microservices-based applications.

Project Management :

- Plan, prioritize, and execute development roadmaps, balancing speed and quality.

Code Quality & Testing :

- Enforce high coding standards and testing practices, including JUnit for unit testing.

Scalability & Performance :

- Optimize system performance using Redis (caching), Kafka (messaging), and MinIO (storage).

Security & Compliance :

- Ensure security best practices, especially when working with blockchain-based ledgers.

Qualifications & Experience :

- 8+ years of engineering experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role.

- Proven experience in scaling applications, AI/ML systems, or distributed architectures.

- Strong expertise in Python, Java (Spring Boot microservices).

- Strong knowledge of React.js and frontend development.

- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL & MongoDB.

- Experience with Redis for caching and Kafka for distributed messaging.

- Knowledge of MinIO for object storage.

- Familiarity with blockchain-based ledger systems.

- Strong understanding of unit testing frameworks (JUnit).

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Kubernetes, Docker.

- Knowledge of data pipelines, ETL, and AI/ML frameworks is a plus.

- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management, client management/ client servicing skills.

- Experience working in a fast-paced, AI-driven product environment is a plus.
