Shift Incharge-Process (Explosive Manufacturing Plant)

Position Summary:

The Shift In-Charge is responsible for managing the production operations during their assigned shift in a Bulk Emulsion Explosive Plant. This includes overseeing safety, production efficiency, quality assurance, and compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. The role requires effective leadership, team management, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management:
• Ensure smooth production of Bulk Emulsion Matrix explosives during the assigned shift.
• Monitor and control all process parameters to achieve the desired output and quality.
• Optimize plant operations for efficiency and minimal downtime.
2. Safety Compliance:
• Implement and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and practices.
• Conduct safety briefings and ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure all safety incidents are reported and investigated.
3. Quality Assurance:
• Ensure that the product Emulsion Matrix meets defined quality specifications and standards.
• Conduct routine checks on raw materials and finished products.
• Coordinate with the quality assurance team to address any quality deviations.
4. Team Leadership:
• Supervise and guide plant operators and support staff during the shift.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring optimal workforce utilization.
• Conduct on-the-job training for new operators and foster skill development.
5. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
• Monitor the condition of equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance.
• Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions and process bottlenecks promptly.
• Report major breakdowns and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.

6. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with government regulations, environmental norms, and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, and safety activities.
• Assist in internal and external audits.

7. Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
• Implement best practices to enhance plant productivity and reduce wastage.

8. Coordination:

• Liaise with other departments, including procurement, logistics, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare and submit shift reports to the Plant Manager or Production Head.

9 Process Optimization:

• Analyze system performance and implement corrective measures to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Identify areas for automation or process improvements and collaborate with engineering teams to execute upgrades.
