Job Opportunity For Network Admin

Firewall Administration (NGFW):

• Configure, manage, and maintain Next-Generation Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco Firepower, etc.).
• Implement and monitor firewall policies, rules, and traffic filtering to enhance network security.
• Perform intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS) using NGFW features.
• Manage SSL inspection, VPNs (site-to-site and remote access), and other secure connectivity solutions.
• Respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities, ensuring timely remediation.

2. Network Routing and Switching:

• Design and manage advanced routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) for efficient and resilient connectivity.
• Maintain Layer 2/3 switching environments and VLAN configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve routing and switching issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement quality of service (QoS) policies to prioritize critical network traffic.

3. Virtualization:

• Deploy and manage network virtualization platforms such as VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, or similar technologies.
• Optimize virtualized network environments for scalability, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with server and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration between virtualized and physical networks.

4. Network Monitoring and Optimization:

• Utilize network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nagios) to track performance, identify issues, and plan capacity.
• Conduct regular audits of network configurations and performance metrics.
• Fine-tune network infrastructure to minimize latency and maximize throughput.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Generate periodic reports on network performance, incidents, and compliance with security standards.

6. Collaboration and Support:

• Provide technical support to internal teams and end-users for network-related issues.
• Work closely with security, server, and application teams to design integrated solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical network incidents.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

• years of experience in network engineering roles, with expertise in firewalls, routing, and virtualization.
• Hands-on experience with NGFWs (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower).
• Experience with network virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI).

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in configuring and managing NGFWs, including advanced security features like IDS/IPS, URL filtering, and SSL inspection.
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and Layer 2/3 switching.
• Experience with VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN).
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms and SDN (Software-Defined Networking).
• Knowledge of scripting/automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible) is a plus.
• Understanding of network security practices and compliance standards.

• Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE)
