We are looking to bring in a skilled professional with expertise in web scraping to assist with various data-gathering projects critical to our operations. You will play a vital role in helping our team efficiently collect and process data from online sources.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of web scraping techniques, proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience working with scraping tools. This role will directly support our team by gathering valuable data from diverse web platforms and transforming it into actionable insights for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement web scraping strategies to collect data from various websites and online platforms.
• Use Python and web scraping tools (e.g., BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium) to build and maintain scalable data extraction pipelines.
• Ensure data accuracy and cleanliness, handling any issues with data formats or inconsistencies.
• Perform data transformation and preprocessing tasks to make the gathered data usable for Power BI analysis
• Regularly monitor and update scraping scripts to adapt to changes in website structure and ensure ongoing accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand data requirements and deliver data-driven insights.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data scraping and performance.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical guidelines for web scraping and data collection.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience with web scraping and data extraction techniques.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in libraries like BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, etc.
• Familiarity with APIs and working with structured data formats like JSON, XML, and CSV.
• Experience in data cleaning, transformation, and storage (SQL/NoSQL databases).
• Knowledge of HTTP, web protocols, and how to handle large-scale data scraping.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues related to scraping scripts and website structure changes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for large-scale data scraping.
• Familiarity with machine learning techniques or natural language processing for data analysis.
• Previous experience working in an Agile environment.
• Understanding of legal aspects of web scraping (e.g., data privacy laws, terms of service compliance).

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ Years of relevant experience in web scraping, data analysis, or a related field.
