Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchase Manager to oversee the purchasing operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services, ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies, maintaining inventory levels, and working closely with suppliers to negotiate and secure favorable terms. The role also involves coordinating with various departments to understand their needs and ensure the timely availability of necessary materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company objectives, optimize cost savings, and ensure high-quality products.
• Supplier Management : Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet the company's standards of quality, cost, and delivery.
• Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing, discounts, and delivery schedules.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure timely replenishment of stock, reducing stockouts and excess inventory.
• Purchase Orders: Create, track, and manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Cost Control: Track and manage the purchasing budget to ensure adherence to financial goals and minimize wastage or unnecessary expenditure.
• Data Analysis: Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, opportunities for cost reduction, and areas of improvement.
• Compliance: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, logistics, finance) to ensure seamless procurement and distribution processes.
• Supplier Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess supplier performance through key metrics and address issues promptly.
• Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, new products, and industry best practices to continuously improve the purchasing process.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in manufacturing, retail, etc.].
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
• In-depth knowledge of purchasing and supply chain management processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and familiarity with procurement software/tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications in purchasing/procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPP, CIPS).
• Experience with international sourcing or importing/exporting.
• Knowledge of budgeting and cost control techniques.
