Position Title : Assistant Manager - Cost Accounting

Reports To: Finance Controller
Position Overview :
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager - Cost Accounting with a strong background in costing within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience if a Chartered Accountant (CA) or 5 years of experience if an ICWA, along with expertise in SAP and costing methodologies. This role will be primarily responsible for managing cost accounting functions, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting in a manufacturing setup.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Costing and Inventory Valuation:
- Perform detailed cost analysis for products, including direct and indirect costs, labor, and overhead.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and update cost records in line with standard costing procedures.
- Assist in maintaining cost accounting systems in SAP, ensuring accurate and up-to-date cost data.
2. Costing Methodology and Reporting:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective costing methodologies for the manufacturing processes.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and provide insights into cost variances.
- Assist the Finance Controller in preparing cost analysis reports for management review.
3. Product Costing and Profitability Analysis:
- Perform product costing analysis to evaluate the profitability of products and make recommendations for cost optimization.
- Work closely with the operations team to determine accurate cost drivers for different manufacturing processes.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support in the budgeting and forecasting of manufacturing costs for various products and business units.
- Provide detailed cost projections to assist in business planning and decision-making.
5. SAP and Costing System Management:
- Manage the SAP system to track and allocate costs accurately across different cost centers and production lines.
- Ensure that all cost data in SAP aligns with actual production and operational data, providing accurate cost insights.
6. Internal Controls and Compliance and cost reduction :
- Ensure proper internal controls over cost accounting processes and procedures to comply with financial policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal auditors to review costing procedures and ensure compliance with corporate standards.
- Support cross-functional teams in implementing cost-saving measures and tracking their effectiveness.
7. Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, procurement) to analyze cost structures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide support to management by offering timely and accurate cost-related data for decision-making.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) with 3 years of experience or ICWA with 5 years of experience in cost accounting.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- SAP Knowledge: Strong proficiency in SAP for costing, inventory management, and reporting.
- Cost Accounting Expertise: In-depth understanding of costing methodologies, product costing, and cost analysis.
- Manufacturing Costing: Practical experience in manufacturing cost structures including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to evaluate costs, variances, and performance.
- Reporting Skills: Ability to generate detailed cost reports and present financial data to management.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and consistency in cost data.
