TM Cloud & Apps DBA

• Provisioning, monitoring and administration of business application Cloud IaaS & PaaS platforms.
• Supporting Installations, Up-gradation, Monitoring, Backup & Recovery operation of Mission critical 24X7 Business Applications, Databases & system administration activities which covers Oracle ERP & peripheral applications ie SOA, ECC, Orbit, OBIEE , Oracle Integration, Oracle Identity & Access management , Master Data Management, e-Permit, Smart Asset Management, & CLMS etc hosted on premise & Cloud.
• Assisting patching of Oracle Exadata appliance, Oracle Clusterware, X-7 servers & ZFS storage.
• Providing support for Implementation of policy/procedure/guideline for Change Management, Access Control, Backup recovery & BCP-DR for the Oracle Business application infrastructure and projects.
• DBA support & daily operational dba activities of business-critical Oracle application & Databases (Production/Non-Production) running on Oracle Exadata, Oracle X-7, IBM Power Servers & storage to ensure high availability 99.95% along with integrity, security and performance through use of best practices.
• Supporting Implementation of new improvement initiatives to maintain optimal performance of the business Applications & Database.
• Supporting Implementation of IT General controls for ERP applications & database as per organization policy, procedure & guidelines.

Job Context

Job Context :

Hindalco is running integrated ERP solution ie Ekaayan Oracle EBS application and Database along with new business application like Oracle Enterprise Command center, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Integration, Oracle Identity & Access management , Oracle Cloud applications ie OTM,CX & SX & other key Bolton applications like Master Data Management, e-Permit, Smart Asset Management, & CLMS etc for which ERP infrastructure has been built from scratch which includes Hosting , Network , Security, Database & Application setup to run business application.

Hindalco has built High end infrastructure comprising of Oracle Engineered system Exadata for Database & Oracle X-7 servers with ZFS Storage with High Availability architecture using 2 Node Oracle RAC database for transparent failover & redundant application servers on Active-Active Configuration at Primary & DR site.

Management, Administration & ensuring data security and integrity of multiple & such a huge size of applications & Databases requires specialized skill set with depth knowledge in Oracle Database, Application installation and Maintenance, shell scripting, OS, & cloud administration to ensure Application & Database high availability for the business processes. Regular monitoring analysis, review & proactive measures are required to ensure 99.9% availability with optimal performance.

In this role, the incumbent will work closely with Lead & Head DB & Cloud, ERP Developer/Technical Teams, Outsourced Vendors and Head ERP & Technology to ensure high availability of Applications.

Supporting Actions

Monitoring , Administration & Support of Ekaayan& Current ERP Applications, Database, Servers & Storage to ensure High availability & performance.

• Supporting Installation, configuration upgrading & patching of Oracle application /database products.
• Supporting Implementation of Oracle and its tools, and third party products required to run business application.
• Resource Monitoring & Optimization of Database objects like tablespaces, indexes, and tables etc periodically and take corrective measures like Purging the temporary tables, Defragmentation of Database Objects, rebuilding of Index etc for optimal response time.
• Performing Oracle EBS application system administration activities.
• Providing necessary support for Tuning application to avoid the Performance bottleneck of the servers by balancing the concurrent request loads on multi node.
• Monitoring and Operating system resource parameter cpu, memory, filesystem, logs, temporary files etc and taking appropriate actions for optimal performance and availability.
• Supporting Database & Application Patching & Cloning as and when required. Configuring the database and application for Test and development environment.
• Provide necessary input & assistance to build policy/procedure/guideline for Change Management, Access Control, Backup recovery & BCP-DR of Ekaayan ERP environment
• Assisting operational activities of Oracle ZFS Storage, Linux VMs, OEM, OVS (Oracle Virtual Server) and OVM (Oracle Virtual Manager) .

ERP application & database Backup/ Recovery & Disaster Recovery.

• Supporting Implementation of defined backup and recovery policy for the ERP application & database.
• Monitoring backup of database and application using Commvault & Tivoli Storage Manager on daily, weekly, Monthly & Yearly basis & troubleshooting any backup related issue on daily basis.
• Performing Logical backup of schemas, objects using Export/Import utility on need basis.
• Supporting recovery of database and application as and when required.
• Monitoring of DR Site Application & Databases replication & availability.
• Assisting smooth execution DR Drill on Periodic basis .

ERP application/database support, Change & release management.

• Troubleshooting Problems related oracle database and applications & taking Corrective/Preventive actions.
• Handling Database and Application related customer support calls through HSD.
• Deployment of newly developed & modified application components and database objects into PRODUCTION instance.
• Creation and handling of Service Request(SR) with oracle support services.
• Assisting Functional and Technical team in resolving problems as per Oracle support.

Application/Database Security, & Access Control Management

• Regular monitoring, recording and reporting of any changes on database objects .
• Supporting Implementation of defined Access control policy
• Creating Users, managing passwords, Assignment of Roles & Responsibility, Revocation/Termination for ERP Application & Database as per access control policy.
• Provisioning of reports for periodic review of Roles & Responsibilities.
• Supporting Implementation of Security & IT general controls as per organization policy & procedures.

Monitoring & Administration of Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Service.

• Provisioning of IaaS & PaaS environment as per Business requirement.
• Supporting Implementation of security controls on IaaS & PaaS instances based on requirements and implementation.
• Provide technical assistance on cloud-based systems and resolve technical problems.
• Supporting Implementing user and account security rights and restrictions.
• Overall monitoring of cloud resources on daily basis.
