About the Job:
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fraud Specialist to join our growing team.
- The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in e-commerce fraud, possessing a strong understanding of online fraud trends, detection techniques, and prevention strategies.
- This role will be crucial in protecting our online platform and customers from fraudulent activities.
- You will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to online fraud, developing and maintaining fraud detection strategies, and providing regular reports on our fraud posture.
Responsibilities:
- Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert on e commerce cyber fraud, providing guidance and recommendations on fraud prevention strategies, policies, and best practices.
- Fraud Monitoring & Detection: Proactively monitor, detect, and respond to online fraud attempts using various data analysis techniques, fraud detection tools, and internal systems.
- This includes analyzing transaction data, user behavior, and other relevant information to identify suspicious patterns and anomalies.
- Playbook Development & Maintenance: Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive cyber fraud detection playbooks, incident response procedures, and escalation protocols.
- Ensure these documents are regularly updated to reflect the evolving fraud landscape.
- Incident Response & Analysis: Lead fraud incident identification, containment, and investigation.
- Perform detailed data analysis to identify the root cause of fraud incidents, draw actionable conclusions, and recommend preventative measures.
- Trend Analysis & Reporting: Stay up-to-date on the latest cyber fraud trends, tactics, and techniques.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
- Provide periodic reports on the company's fraud posture across all e-commerce environments, including key metrics, trends, and recommendations.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other teams, including IT, customer service, legal, and risk management, to address fraud-related issues and implement preventative measures.
- Tool Evaluation & Recommendation: Evaluate and recommend new fraud detection tools and technologies to enhance our capabilities and stay ahead of evolving threats.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to improve fraud detection processes and strategies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new fraud prevention initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/ master's degree in a related field (Finance, or equivalent experience).
- 4-8 years of proven experience in e-commerce fraud prevention and online fraud analysis.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce fraud trends, tactics, and techniques, including account takeover, card testing, phishing, and other online scams.
- Proficiency in using fraud detection tools and technologies.
- Experience with data analysis techniques and tools (SQL, Excel, data visualization tools).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in developing and maintaining fraud detection playbooks and incident response procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements (PCI DSS).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications related to fraud prevention or information security (Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)).
- Experience with machine learning and AI-based fraud detection solutions.
