Job Description
- 5-10 years of experience in the Copper Business industry
- Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Manage and supervise the day-to-day smelting operations to ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards
- Oversee the smelting process, including feeding materials into furnaces, monitoring temperature and chemical reactions, and controlling the casting of molten metal
- Develop and implement operational procedures to optimize smelting efficiency and minimize downtime
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities for smelting equipment
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, equipment malfunctions, or process deviations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical issues, improve process performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies related to smelting operations
- Train and mentor junior smelting staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in operational procedures and safety practices
- Prepare reports on production output, quality parameters, and resource consumption for management review and decision-making
- Participate in risk assessments and contribute to the development of safety and emergency response plans for smelting operations
