Shift In Charge - Mine Operation

Purpose/Objective

Supervise the overall day to day performance, co-ordination, management and maintenance of the specified mining shift to assist in obtaining maximum productivity, efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the organisation while safeguarding all aspects of compliance and standards and adhering to budget and prescribed criteria.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Roles and Responsibilities - Coordinates open pit activities like drilling, blasting, excavation and transportation etc. - Control pit operations to detect violation of safety regulations and compile safety and production records - Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment - Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment’s - Control pit operations to detect violation of safety regulations and compile safety and production records - Assist in work scheduling and planning - Maintain accurate data/records/documentation - carry out prescribed tasks/projects in accordance with contract requirements - carry out allocated shift tasks/projects within set time limits - Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies and procedures, codes of practice and legislation related to mine safety and environment as well - Responsible for effective use of resources and control expenses to meet budgetary controls - Ensure compliance of the conditions mentioned in Reg- 106(2b) of MMR-1961 - Oversee shift process and providing appropriate instruction to designated team - Responsible to optimize the shift working hour - Co-ordinate with team/contractors/suppliers and other stakeholders for augmentation of productivity - Immediately report problems/constraints to the Line Manager that may impact on the organization Behavioural Skills - Excellent leadership and team management abilities - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills - Effective communication and interpersonal skills - Adaptability and resilience in high-pressure environments - Commitment to safety and compliance Technical Skills - Thorough understanding of mining operations and processes - Proficiency in using mining equipment and technology - Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the mining industry - Experience with shift scheduling and workforce management - Ability to analyze production data and implement improvement strategies Non-Negotiable Skills - Proven experience in managing shift operations within the mining industry - Strong leadership and team management skills - Excellent understanding of safety regulations and compliance

Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification - Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field - Master's degree in Mining Management (preferred) Experience - 4-9 years of experience in the iron ore mining industry - Proven track record of effectively managing shift operations - Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in leading a team
