Essential skills

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Architect, with demonstrated expertise in designing, managing, and optimizing data warehouses, lakes, lakehouses as well as scalable data analytics workflows.
• Extensive experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, ADLS, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, One Lake, Synapse Analytics and working knowledge of DBT for data processing and transformation.
• A working understanding of Data Warehousing concepts of Data Vault, Dimensional modelling, OLAP design.
• Direct experience of building data pipelines using technology such as Azure Data Factory and Apache Spark (preferably in Databricks).
• Extensive experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild, Azure Pipelines, and Jenkins.
• Skilled in scripting languages including Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Experience in utilising development containers, unit testing/code quality review/linting - standard best practices
• Strong understanding of data models in business intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and other analytics tools.
• Advanced SQL skills and solid expertise in database design principles.
• Knowledge of the Azure Cloud Platform, especially in relation to data warehousing and storage solutions.
• Background in data integration and engineering, including familiarity with data pipelines and storage optimization.
• Strong grasp of data governance, data security, and compliance requirements.
• Problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex technical issues.
• Microsoft certifications in data-related fields are preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with a business and financial aptitude.

Education:

• Bachelors or masters in science or engineering disciplines (Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics, etc.
