Senior Associate

Job Purpose

As a member of the Data Science practice, you will be leading the Business Analysis role, converting investment banking end outcomes to data / tech roadmap in collaboration with senior bankers, execution bankers, data scientists, data engineers and project manager. You need a strong foundation in the capital markets data ecosystem including fundamentals, market data, valuation methodologies, broker estimates, financial filings across M&A, ECM and DCM markets. You will be playing an active role in transforming business models of leading global investment banking firms. Hands-on experience on analytical tools is preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Review complex investment banking challenges and convert them into actionable stepwise projects.
• Conduct interviews with senior bankers and execution bankers and summarize/document key insights.
• Assist project management leads in converting core financial language to actionable Data/Tech projects.
• Advise and educate data scientists and engineers on Financial Analysis and Valuation Methodologies
• Ensure building functional QA for global filings (such as 20-Fs), GDRs, ADRs, options dilution etc.
• Build and maintain a taxonomy for company entities, ensuring consistency and accuracy in data analysis.
• Expert-level understanding of advanced ratio analysis and valuation techniques (comps, DCF, LBO etc.)
• Manage client relationships and effectively communicate with stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.

Required Background

• Bachelors or Masters in Finance, Economic, Science or Engineering disciplines
• 4+ years of experience in the Investment banking space
• Hands-on experience in front-office M&A / ECM / DCM support for senior and execution bankers
• Experience in a Business Analyst role, preferably within the investment banking sector.
• Experience with market data analysis and financial datasets.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with a business and technical aptitude.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Preferred desired skills

• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their applications in business analytics.

Experience with developing and implementing taxonomy mapping for company entities
