The Internal Auditor will be responsible for performing independent and objective audits of operational, financial, and compliance processes within our manufacturing facilities. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying potential risks, and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the annual internal audit plan, focusing on key risk areas within the manufacturing operations.
- Conduct comprehensive audits of various manufacturing processes, including production, inventory management, supply chain, quality control, and maintenance.
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls related to financial reporting, operational efficiency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify and document audit findings, including control deficiencies, process gaps, and potential areas for improvement.
- Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and management responses.
- Follow up on the implementation of agreed-upon recommendations to ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Collaborate with management and other stakeholders to understand business processes and identify areas of risk.
- Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and internal audit methodologies, particularly those relevant to the manufacturing sector.
- Perform special projects and investigations as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-9 yrs years of experience in internal audit, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation is preferred. Candidates actively pursuing the CIA designation will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of internal audit standards (e.g., IIA standards) and risk assessment methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and executing audits, identifying risks, and developing recommendations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including production planning, inventory control, quality management, and supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements for manufacturing companies (e.g., environmental regulations, OSHA standards).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using audit software and data analytics tools is a plus.
