Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to spearhead the development of a 0-to-1 product. You will play a crucial role in designing and building scalable, high-performance backend systems from scratch. This is an opportunity for a growth-minded engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is eager to take full ownership of technical challenges and product outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and develop the backend infrastructure for a 0-to-1 product, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and innovation.
- Define and implement APIs, microservices, and databases that power the products core features.
- Optimize backend systems for speed and efficiency, handling a high volume of requests with minimal latency.
- Collaborate closely with the frontend, mobile, product, and design teams to deliver a seamless user experience.
- Drive technical decisions and lead code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and technical standards.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, ensuring the system remains stable and reliable.
- Continuously explore new technologies and methodologies to improve development processes and product performance.
- 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of leading backend systems for web or mobile applications.
- Experience in designing and building scalable microservices and APIs.
- Strong experience with databases (both relational and NoSQL), including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with message queues, caching, and other high-performance techniques (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies.
- Experience in developing 0-to-1 products or greenfield projects.
- Growth mindset with the ability to embrace challenges, adapt to change, and continuously learn new technologies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring and growing engineering teams.
