Role :DB2 Database AdministartorRole Description :Act as the ongoing interface between the client and the system or application. Dedicated to quality, using exceptional communication skills to keep our world class systems running. Can accurately define a client issue and can interpret and design a resolution based on deep product knowledge.The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in managing and optimizing DB2 databases, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and security best practices.Must Have Skills :Extensive experience (10+ years) in DB2 database administration, including z/OS and LUW environments., Knowledge on MySQL/Mongo/Postgre SQL too.Proficient in database performance tuning, replication, backup, and recovery strategies.Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automationGood To Have Skills :Cloud Knowledge (Azure/AWS/GCP)Experience with IBM DB2 on Unix (AIX,Solaris,HP-UX, Linux) is essentialKey Responsibilities :Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development database systems within a defined operating model and processes Provide L3-L4 software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all server, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands.

Develop and implement database management strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database-driven applications and projects.

Perform database tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.

Proactively identify and mitigate potential database risks.

Design and implementation of relational databases at an enterprise level.

Lead DB Schema and architectural designs

Provide expertise related to DB performance, HA, and scalability

DR Planning and execution in HA environments.

Experience with Object Relational Modeling System such as Hibernate or JPA

Physical database design and tuning.

Bulk loading of source data and source data conditioning.

Database security and diagnostic maintenance.

Logical-to-physical data model engineering.

Capacity planning of database.

Distributed database management and control.

Database user security and permissions.

Database automation through scripting and stored procedures

Evaluation and utilization of software products to assist in the management of data.

Planning, installation, and maintenance of DBMS software.

Support/recommend reporting, query and analysis tools ensuring efficient database access

Diagnosis of problems and resolution for application software.

Measurement of DBMS performance and tuning; diagnosis of problems.

Modification of system-level configuration to optimize performance.

Consultation with system administrator regarding O/S - DBMS requirements.

Maintenance of physical integrity of all production databases.

Monitoring errors

Stay current with new database technology developments and techniques, research new software and tools, proactively recommend improvements

Certifications (Preferred):oIBM Certified Database Administrator – DB2.oITIL or equivalent certifications.Key Competencies:
