Summary:As a PostgreSQL Database Administrator, you will implement, configuring and managing the PostgreSQL databases. You will also assist in the design of database and customization to meet the business process design and application requirements. Your typical day will involve collaborating with the DB team and other team members to ensure the successful resolution of database issues and continuing database monitoring and optimization. You will also analyze database performance and provide recommendations for customization to meet specific business needs. Additionally, you will participate in team discussions and contribute to providing solutions to work-related problems.

Installs, configures, upgrades, tunes, and maintains PostgreSQL production, development, and test databases.

Participates in application outage incidents to ensure database integrity and functionality.

Defines and maintains database problem reporting, tracking, and resolution procedures.

Provides proactive input into design issues/constraints, performance tuning, and impact analysis of changes.

Support, enforce and improve upon database development, deployment, and maintenance best practices.

Advise customers on hardware and performance questions, and recommend best practices

Ensure that customers are have appropriate maintenance in place including backups, index maintenance, consistency checks and statistics maintenance

Continue to learn new skills involved in being a PostgreSQL DBA as the technology evolves

Keep up to date with new releases of PostgreSQL and advise customers of the aspects that pertain to them

Interface and communicate with other internal departments.

Participate in 24x7 shift coverage

Keep time entry up to date within 24 hours.
Additional Information:

The candidate should have a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in PostgreSQL Administration.

This position is based at our Gurugram office.

A 15 years full-time education is required.
