Manager I, Quality Engineering

In this role, you will lead manage, and mentor a team of SDETs. You'll leverage your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to:

• Lead a team of SDETs, driving the automation testing strategy and ensuring high-quality software releases.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance while managing team performance and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Oversee the development and execution of test automation frameworks, ensuring they align with both technical and business goals.
• Coach and mentor team members, fostering their professional growth and development, and guiding them through technical challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide hands-on guidance in designing and developing automated testing frameworks.
• Lead a team of SDETs, ensuring their growth, performance, and development.
• Oversee testing efforts, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Define and implement test automation strategies and ensure they are aligned with the overall development goals.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor junior team members and encourage best practices in test automation and software testing.
• Continuously improve test processes, identifying areas for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
• Regularly communicate test strategies, project updates, and results to stakeholders.
• Ensure test environments are stable and meet the requirements for automated and manual testing.
• Monitor team performance and project outcomes, addressing challenges and ensuring quality goals are met.

REPORTING LINE

• You will be reporting to Manager II, Engineering Management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience in a technical or management capacity.
• Strong experience in test automation tools like Selenium, Appium, or JUnit.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Proven ability to manage teams, drive performance, and mentor junior engineers.
• Experience managing multiple testing projects simultaneously.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Strong verbal and written communication to effectively engage stakeholders.
• Analytical skills to address complex testing and automation challenges.

PREFERRED SKILLSET

• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
• Proficiency in tools such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, and other automation frameworks.
• Experience in web and mobile application test automation.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable test scripts.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Capability to seamlessly integrate test automation into CI/CD processes.
• Deep understanding of testing strategies for modern application architectures, including microservices and serverless designs.
• Experience in leading and managing a team of SDETs, including performance monitoring and fostering professional growth.
• Strong ability to mentor junior engineers in best practices.
• Proficiency in managing multiple testing projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Ability to identify areas for efficiency improvement and implement innovative testing solutions.
