Vice President - Finance & Accounting - Airline company,Mumbai,CTC upto 1.20Cr
This is a Finance Leadership role with a possible progression to the CFO position. As such, the person will be expected to contribute across all areas of the Company and Finance on an ongoing basis which will go much beyond the core duties defined below. The person will also be required to create an organization that is IPO-ready.
1. Financial Reporting:
a. Prepare accurate, timely and useful management accounting information and monthly financial statements including variance analysis commentary, and other information for the CFO/CEO.
b. Ensure Airline meet Ind AS accounting standards and co-ordinate statutory audits as required and in accordance with local/statutory requirements.
c. Ensure that the accounting always represents the correct picture of the business.
2. Risk and Compliance:
- Provide strategic oversight on financial compliance issues and other Government reporting requirements under the relevant Acts to maximize the long-term financial performance of the Airline operations.
- Develop the Internal Audit function to ensure that all departments are compliant with the best-in-class processes and to ensure that potential fraud or risk can be mitigated.
- Engage with Audit Committee/External Auditor on an ongoing basis to drive the Internal Audit function
3. Structure and Systems:
- Review and establish an appropriate finance team structure to support Airline.
- Lead, manage and develop the finance function and provide strategic direction and support accordingly.
- Lead and manage the roll out of accounting/finance system across Airline.
- Lead and develop the finance team's capacity to service the finance needs most effectively of all business units; obtain efficiencies by the centralizing of financial and related services where practical.
- Develop and maintain appropriate financial systems, procedures, and controls for the finance function in accordance with Airlines internal control requirements and local legislative requirements.
4. Develop a strong accounts payables function by ensuring automation, timely vendor and employee payments.
5. Manage the tax affairs of Airline operations and take responsibility for direct or indirect taxation for the Airline. This will require extensive internal tax advisory across all contracts executed in Akasa.
